Huggies Jeans: Who Needs Clothes When You Have Diapers?

Posted on 30. May, 2010 by in Miscellaneous

Last week I received an advertisement for Huggies diapers jeans in my mailbox.

Yup … really.

I couldn’t even make this up if I wanted to …. probably because diapers that look like jeans are one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard of … but I’m sure that people will buy them anyway.

My daughter has worn Pampers since she was born, but I’m a sucker for coupons so I broke the seal on the little red and white booklet  and started flipping through the pages anyway.  In addition to those standard baby ad  “oh-look-how-cute-he-is!” photos and a few coupons, Huggies announced their new limited edition diapers: diapers that look like jeans!

Just think how convenient Huggies Jeans will be for those people who let their kids run around without pants 99 percent of the time anyway: they’ll be able to take Junior to Wal-Mart in a diaper and no one will even know the difference!

Betcha Can’t Eat Just One!

Since it got to the point that we were dining out for every meal (seems to be an ongoing trend in this family) we broke down and went to the grocery store yesterday.

As we were hitting the snack aisle to grab some chips Bobby said, “Hey look at these!” and picked up a can of Mozzarella Sticks and Marinara Pringles.

My first thought was “EW!” but curiosity got the better of me and I asked “I wonder if they’re any good?”

He put them in the cart.

Then I noticed a green can on the shelf next to the black ones and I yelled “Pickle potato chips! Those are SOOO good!” He looked at me like I was insane since he thought I was joking, but – yeah, sadly – I’ve had pickle flavored chips before so of course I had to get those, too.

We opened both cans once we got home to eat lunch.

Drumroll please ….

The verdict:

Mozzarella sticks and Marinara Pringles

Not too shabby! They kinda-sorta-almost taste like mozzarella and marinara (if you really think about it and try to remind yourself that’s what you’re eating) but if you didn’t have the can in front of you you’d probably guess that they were BBQ-flavor. That was what we both said after we ate a couple.

Screamin’ Dill Pickle Pringles

Pretty good, but they have a sorta bitter aftertaste to them. Maybe that’s why they’re screamin’? Don’t worry, that didn’t stop me from eating them. I love junk food, but I’m not sure if I’d buy them again. I can’t give you Bobby’s opinion since (remember?) he won’t eat pickles or anything pickle-flavored.

P.S. In case you’re wondering, I’ve given up on Weight Watchers again – bad Melissa! – so I wasn’t too concerned about buying these and ruining my diet.

Just Do It!

I’ve been so busy tired lazy lately that I haven’t written anything, but while I was twittering away my time this morning (I was on Twitter – get it?!) I started Googling famous quotes.

Let me tell ya – motivational quotes are really good at making you feel like crap!

For example:

A man who dares to waste one hour of time has not discovered the value of life. – Charles Darwin.

All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Life consists not in holding good cards but in playing those you hold well. – Josh Billings

Lost time is never found again. -Benjamin Franklin

So on that note, I am writing this right now just so that I’m writing. Something. Anything!

More to follow!
