Last year I attended the National Walk for Epilepsy in Washington, DC and had my hair dyed purple for epilepsy awareness. I also decided to let my short hair grow out a bit for the first time in ages.
I chopped off all my hair during college (okay, technically, a stylist chopped off all my hair because I’m not that brave or that dumb–there’s a reason they have to go to school to learn how to cut hair. Always remember that when you’re tempted to grab the scissors, people!) Although it’s been black, brown, blonde, red, orange and purple over the years, it’s been short ever since. Yeah, I know, admitting this publicly makes me sound like a woman on the verge of a mid-life crisis, but I figured it was time for a change. Change is good and besides, I don’t think I’m old enough to have a mid-life crisis.
