Surprised but Newly Motivated

After getting up this morning, I pulled out the scale for the dreaded weekly weigh-in. I was expecting a gain, as I told you last night., but I stepped on and forced myself to look down at the number. Shocking!

So shocking, in fact, that I stepped on and off about 5 times in a row to verify that what I was seeing wasn’t a mistake.

I lost just under 3 pounds last week — 2.8 to be exact! I’ve now lost over 25 pounds since having the baby, and over 15 pounds since re-joining Weight Watchers as a New Year’s resolution on January 1st. (I was a member before my pregnancy, as I may have mentioned before)

I’m beyond pleased! Please don’t take this as a sign that it’s OK to pig out the night before you check your weight if you’re feeling kinda discouraged. I certainly wasn’t expecting a loss, but it did motivate me to go out for a long walk with the baby this afternoon. I even attempted to jog, although that is a little bit harder for me! Guess I’ll just keep on keepin’ on with the exercise and eating plan … it’s working! Yay!
